Join our Kayak Course on the Fonce River, in the heart of San Gil, Colombia, the country’s adventure capital. This course is designed for those who want to learn or improve their whitewater kayaking skills in a safe, progressive and fun environment.

Guided by certified instructors, you will learn essential techniques such as paddling strokes, river reading, safety procedures and kayak control while navigating the clear waters and exciting rapids of the Fonce River. Whether you are a beginner or already have some experience, the course adapts to your level and helps you gain confidence on the river.

Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes and warm Colombian hospitality, this experience combines learning, adrenaline and connection with nature in one unforgettable adventure.

Complete safety equipment: Helmet, life jacket, and paddle, all certified for your protection.

Professional guides: Expert instructors will accompany you throughout the entire journey, providing clear instructions and ensuring your safety.

Transportation: Transfers from your accommodation in San Gil to the starting point and return at the end of the activity.

Optional photo and video package: You can purchase photos and videos of the experience for COP 80,000 per raft.

Cultural refreshment stop: A stop halfway through the route to enjoy a tasting of guarapo, a traditional Colombian beverage.

1. Welcome in San Gil

You will start your adventure in San Gil, where our team will pick you up and drive you to the starting point at Puente Pescadero (about 50 km, 1h 20' drive).

2. Activity presentation

Once at the river, your professional guides will introduce the experience: the route, group dynamics, and what to expect during the descent.

3. Equipment hand-out

We’ll provide all the necessary safety gear — life jacket, helmet, and paddle. Our staff will make sure everything fits properly for your comfort and security.

4. Safety briefing & training

Before getting in the water, you’ll receive clear safety instructions and a short training session on paddling techniques and how to react as a team.

5. The Fonce river descent begins

Now the adventure begins! You’ll navigate 10 km of powerful Class II–III rapids, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, with a stop halfway through the descent to enjoy a tasting of guarapo, a traditional Colombian drink.

6. Return to San Gil

We’ll drive you back to San Gil, where your duckie experience concludes — with memories of a truly unforgettable adventure.

What to bring:

  • Swimsuit and towel

  • Sunscreen and a cap

  • Comfortable sportswear suitable for getting wet and secure footwear.

  • Do not bring anything on the trip that could fall into the water or be damaged.

  • Meals: Please eat at least 1 hour before the activity.
